As many of you know, Kobe was raised in Ardmore, Oklahoma. His summers were spent wake surfing on Lake Murray, his fall was spent on the gridiron and his winters involved trips to Colorado to snowboard. He later attended Colorado School of Mines on a scholarship to play football while studying engineering.

Clare grew up in Wilton, Connecticut playing Lacrosse and spending summers on the beaches of Block Island. Her winters were spent working in retail and skiing in Vermont and Colorado. She attended the University of Denver to have continued access to hiking and skiing while earning her degree in psychology.

As COVID stifled the opportunity to meet traditionally, Clare and Kobe “met” in February of 2021 on a dating app, a year into the pandemic, just as the world was beginning to open back up again. Kobe started chatting with Clare on the app which soon led to chatting on Snapchat (of course). In true Clare fashion, after two weeks of back-and- forth texting, Clare gave an ultimatum for Kobe to either ask her on a date or to stop messaging her. Needless to say, he asked her on a date. Perhaps nervous about Clare’s stipulation, their first in-person date was at the dive bar Ace-Hi in Golden, Colorado. With the entire football team waiting in the wings (for support or protection?) It was the beginning of a true romance. As the night evolved and Kobe and Clare played rounds of giant Jenga and drank Coors Light, their defenses were dropped and they began to get to know each other, laughed, joked, and began to like each other very much.

As the relationship flourished and time flew by, they shared experiences and built many, many memories. They shared their love of music and attended multiple concerts including 30H!3 and Zach Bryan. They explored Italy and the Amalfi Coast. In the summer they spent time in Ardmore wake surfing. Back home in Denver they spent weekends hiking and skiing across the Rockies. No matter where their adventures took them, they would end their days together, as a family walking their furry child Highland each night.

In the fall of 2023, Kobe proposed to Clare as the sun descended over the horizon of the Pacific Ocean in San Diego. With some hidden friends and family nearby, Clare was shockingly and completely surprised. With tears in both of their eyes, Clare said yes to the love of her life.

The wedding is in Aspen as it holds a special place in both Clare and Kobe’s heart. Clare grew up skiing and hiking in Aspen and it was the location of their first trip outside of Denver together. Throughout the years, they have traveled to, and formed many lasting memories, in this special small town in the mountains.

And now, after four years together, we cannot wait to create the best memory yet with all of you!! We welcome you to Aspen and thank you for sharing this very special time with us and our families.
